The Full-Day Santorini Sailing Cruise: the Whole Caldera, One Day

Five hours shows you the highlights. A full day gives you the island — all five islands of the caldera, in fact, including ones the half-day boats never reach. This is the cruise for people who want to arrive home with salt in their hair and nothing left unseen: the coloured beaches only accessible by boat, the volcanic bays, the cliff-top villages from below, and the untouched island of Thirassia, explored on foot.

Because the boat is privately yours for the day, the itinerary is fully adjustable. Returning sailors can point at the chart and go somewhere new; first-timers can simply say yes to everything.

The Route, Weather Permitting

  • Red Beach — the lava-rock amphitheatre near Akrotiri
  • White Beach — accessible by boat only
  • Akrotiri and Mesa Pigadia — crystal-clear swimming and snorkeling
  • The "Indian Man's Face" rock formation and Akrotiri's 1892 lighthouse — see the lighthouse's story
  • The volcanic private bays of the south coast
  • The volcano and hot springs — with an optional docking to climb Nea Kameni's craters while the BBQ is prepared on board
  • Thirassia island — time ashore in a harbour village the day-trippers skip
  • Ammoudi Bay below Oia, St. Nicholas island chapel and Fira Old Port — the caldera's landmarks from the water

Compare Your Options

If a full day is more sea time than your itinerary allows, the private day cruise compresses the classic route into five hours, and the private sunset cruise trades distance for golden hour. All departures, prices and inclusions are on the Santorini boat tours page.

Private cruises cancel free up to 4 days before the charter date; severe-weather cancellations are refunded in full.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the full-day sailing cruise?

A full day on the water — enough to circle the caldera's five islands, swim the southern beaches, visit the hot springs and still spend time ashore on Thirassia. It is the longest itinerary we sail and the only one that reaches every landmark.

Can we walk on the volcano?

On request, yes. We can dock at Nea Kameni so you can climb to the craters while the BBQ is prepared on board — one of the few moments in Greece where lunch is timed to a volcano.

What food is served during the day?

BBQ chicken and shrimp, the crew's secret specialty salad, pasta Napolitana, Greek flavours and international finger food — plus Santorini wine, cold beer and water throughout. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

Is the route fixed?

No — the full-day charter is fully adjustable. Returning guests often ask for new corners of the caldera, and the crew is glad to oblige. Weather has the final vote, but the day is built around your wishes.
